MOBILE NUMBER TRANSFER BEGINS IN 2017

The same month, the Authority of Telecommunications will complete the construction of the concentrated database for trial run and the facility is capable of allowing four million subscribers to switch networks without limiting the number of network switches for a period of three years.

The MIC said the connection of the three major networks can meet the needs of over 90 percent of all mobile subscribers.

The policy was mentioned for the first time in 2006 but was only approved by the MIC for implementation in 2013.

Around 70 countries in the world are applying this policy and most of them are developed nations such as the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom and Australia.
